We send our prayers and condolences to everyone effected by the tragic boat sinking off the coast of Lampadeusa island in Italy. Over 300 Africans, mostly Eritreans, lost their lives trying to flee from persecution and find religious freedom.
God is doing amazing things in Africa through your support, but recently our Head of Africa Missions became ill and it could keep us from reaching hundreds of people who are desperate and hungry to hear the Word of the Lord. Please pray!
Tonight we are on the eve of another amazing summer in Africa, so we need your help more than ever to help lay a foundation of blessing and fruitfulness for the next few months to come. Tomorrow our Head of Africa Missions flies from Minneapolis to Washington D.C., and then from there he will depart on an over 20-hour flight from Washington D.C. to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Please pray not only for his safety during the flight, but also pray for the people he will meet on the plane and for his comfort during such a long and confined journey.
This year, we are turning our focus to the multitudes of children in Djibouti who are ready to hear about the good news of Jesus and who need a place where they can meet and learn. Our Head of Africa Missions will travel to Ethiopia and Djibouti with Bibles, toys, and teaching aids for the kids. Our goal is to establish an ongoing Sunday school and youth program in Djibouti managed by members of the Djiboutian church.
